Network Switch

Network Switch (" switch ") is a network device used to forward electrical (optical) signals. It can provide an exclusive electrical signal path for any two network nodes of the access switch. The most common switch is a home Ethernet switch. Other common are data center switches, Fibre Channel switches, enterprise switches and so on.

Networking switches are most commonly used as the network connection point for hosts at the edge of a network.
