Huawei Oman Road Safety Smart Enhancement Project wins IRF 2025 Award Global Award

The IRF 2025 Awards Ceremony was held in Athens, Greece on June 30, 2025. The Huawei Oman Road Safety Smart Enhancement Project (hereinafter referred to as "the Project") was selected by top experts from the International Road Federation and stood out from numerous projects, winning the IRF 2025 Award for Road Safety. It is the only globally recognized project in the road safety direction in 2025. The award aims to recognize the outstanding contributions made by ROP, Huawei, and Shengshi Technology in improving road safety in Oman. Dimitris Mandalozis, President and Chief Operating Officer of the International Road Federation, presented the award to Brigadier General Ali Al Falahi of ROP in Oman.

This award is initiated by the International Road Federation (IRF Geneva) and aims to recognize projects, initiatives, and technologies that have achieved outstanding results in the field of road transportation, promoting innovation, sustainable development, and safety in the road transportation industry.

The award-winning project was provided with a solution by Huawei's Traffic Intelligence Corps. Based on Oman's 2030 vision goals and actual road traffic conditions, the project collaborated with Oman ROP and Shengshi Technology to create an intelligent urban traffic management scenario application. The project pioneered the "perception transmission calculation control" framework, effectively improving Oman's road traffic safety through integrated pole stations, modular data centers, vehicle big data analysis and other technologies, and increasing intersection traffic violation detection by over 80%. The technology is adaptable to various deployment environments and scenarios, and has strong replicability. Technology enables full utilization of resources, on-demand deployment, environmental friendliness, and strong sustainability.

As a strategic project for road safety in the Middle East, it is expected that the number of road accidents will decrease by 20% year-on-year in the first year, reducing economic losses by millions of dollars. This solution and technology have been promoted in countries including Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan in the region.

As of now, Huawei has served over 200000 kilometers of global road networks and road traffic in more than 70 cities.
