Huawei releases Starlink optical modules globally, creating a high-quality 3S network experience

With the surging trend of AI development, AI training is moving towards trillions of parameters, driving the upgrade of switching capacity and promoting the evolution of data center switches towards larger switching capacity. To adapt to the efficient interconnection of large capacity switches, optical modules need to evolve from single channel 56G to 112G. This process faces the following technical challenges: firstly, in terms of transmission distance, as the scale of a single data center increases, interconnected optical modules need to support longer distance transmission; Secondly, in terms of reliability, issues such as optical module failure, dirt, and fiber optic failures have become increasingly prominent; Thirdly, there is a risk of sensitive information exposure when fiber optic cables are exposed during cross machine room interconnection.

Faced with the above challenges, Huawei has launched data center network Starlink optical modules globally, which have three powerful capabilities: ultra long distance transmission (Spanning), ultra high reliability (Stable), and ultra high security (Secure), creating a high-quality 3S network experience for enterprises.

• Spanning: Using exclusive optical path coupling algorithm, deep optical design, and optimized control of optical signal power distribution to ensure maximum optical power transmission, the transmission distance is twice that of the industry.

• Ultra high reliability (Stable): Huawei's exclusive short-range optical return loss positioning technology provides minute level positioning for dirty and loose optical links, far below the industry's 3-hour limit; At the same time, relying on exclusive optical module channel anti loss technology, continuous training of broken chains is achieved, and reliability is improved by 10 times.

• Ultra high security (Secure): Exclusive PHYSec physical layer encryption, with encryption capabilities deployed on the optical module oDSP, achieving 100% encryption of all messages and zero information leakage.
