ISTS 2025 | Huawei Unveils AI Innovations in Road Traffic
Safety, efficiency, and service experience are persistent and universal challenges in global road traffic development. Sun Tao, Vice President of the Huawei Intelligent Transportation Unit and Head of Marketing and Solution Sales, delivered a keynote speech. He noted that Huawei, starting from supporting the global transportation industry's development and innovation, integrates the "point (hub nodes) - line (network routes) - surface (mobility as a service and modern logistics supply chain system) - body (comprehensive three-dimensional transportation)" approach. By collaborating with clients and partners, Huawei builds a full-stack coordinated intelligent transportation and logistics digital foundation encompassing "intelligent sensing - intelligent connectivity - intelligent platform - intelligent applications."
To address the safety and smooth flow of urban road traffic and intercity highways, Huawei combines key technologies of the digital foundation with business scenarios, continuously enhances corridor capacity, fosters the development of corridor economies, and ensures the security of digital corridors.
The extensive and deep application of big data and artificial intelligence technology has promoted the development of intelligent transportation to a higher level and a wider range of fields. In recent years, Huawei has collaborated with industry partners to deeply integrate AI capabilities around core pain points in urban traffic management, bus operations, highway and ordinary road operations, and comprehensive traffic management services. We have developed solutions such as intelligent information control for urban transportation, intelligent scheduling and dispatching for public transportation, intelligent expansion of trunk roads, safety detection for ordinary roads, and integrated coordinated command for comprehensive transportation. These solutions have been implemented in multiple locations, effectively improving operational safety, management efficiency, and service levels.
As of now, Huawei's products and solutions have served over 200000 kilometers of road networks and smart transportation construction in more than 70 cities worldwide.
